Bhojpatra

Description

Bhojpatra is derived from the bark of the Bhoj tree (Betula utilis) and holds great religious significance in Hinduism. It is widely used in puja rituals, tantric practices, and spiritual ceremonies.

It is used for writing sacred yantras and mantras, such as Shri Yantra and Navagraha Yantra, for worship and spiritual benefits. Mantras inscribed on Bhojpatra are often enclosed in a locket or cloth to create a protective amulet. Bhojpatra is particularly significant in the worship of Lord Shiva, Vishnu, Goddess Durga, and Lord Shani.

It is believed that mantras written on Bhojpatra yield faster results and enhance spiritual power. In Vedic astrology and vastu remedies, Bhojpatra is used to remove negative influences. It is sometimes offered in yagna and havan to attract divine blessings.

Traditionally, materials such as Ashtagandha, Kumkum, and Sandalwood are used for writing on Bhojpatra. A pomegranate stick (Anar ki Kalam) is often used to inscribe sacred symbols and verses.
